About Engineers Prague

We are Engineers Prague. Ice Hockey team composed from universities of CTU, VŠE and CULS in Prague, founded in 2017 as a successor of Team Technika Praha, which was, since the 2015/2016, playing the European University Hockey League (EUHL).

The team consists from the students of the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), the University of Economics in Prague (VŠE) and the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (CULS) who preferred university studies before highest levels of sport, but they still want to participate in ice hockey by representing their universities.

In addition to sports objectives, we focus on academic activities such as: supporting official events organized by partner universities, cooperation between university associations and student unions, and representing our universities in the best possible way.

The main sponsor of the club is an engineering company MBtech (since 2016).

All our sponsors and partners can be found here.

In its premiere season at EUHL, Techika Praha got into the play-offs and finished as 6th out of 10 in the international competition of the league. In the following season, Technika Praha defended the same place. (spot? Nevim)

In addition to the EUHL, at the end of the 2015 season, Technika Praha also participated in the traditional international ice hockey tournament called "Rector's Cup of the CTU", where Technika played against teams from Slovakia, Germany, Finland and the Czech Republic, and finished as a winner of the tournament.

The Engineers players also play for separate teams of CTU, VŠE and CULS, for which they represent their universities, for example, at the prestigious Hockey Battle of Universities or at the Academic Championship of the Czech Republic in hockey and other events.

EUHL is the first European ice hockey league. It was established in 2013, following the example of overseas university competitions, where university sports are very popular and prestigious. The competition is organized by the European University Hockey Association (EUHA) and its patron is NHL's former representative and NHL player Lubomir Sekeras, whose name carries the cup for the winners. Six teams from the Czech Republic and Slovakia participated in the premiere season. The season 2017/2018 will already be attended by 13 teams from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. In the future, up to 4 divisions are planned - North, South, East and West.
